Lil Wayne To Release ‘Tha Carter IV’ Digitally At Midnight After VMAs

So it seems The Throne’s sales strategy of releasing the album to iTunes much before the physical release has rubbed off on another major artist. Billboard.biz reports that Lil Wayne will be releasing his new album Tha Carter IV to digital stores at midnight on Sunday following his MTV VMAs performance. That would mean the album will be accessible to fans a few hours before the physical stores open on Monday morning, August 29th. Below is Weezy’s statement:
“I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilize such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others.”

Lil Wayne Faces Another Lawsuit

Lil Wayne Faces Another Lawsuit
Rapper Lil Wayne is once again at the center of a controversial lawsuit. Rapper Rich Rick claims that Wayne's hit "How to Love" was stolen. Rich Rick filed a lawsuit earlier this week in Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to TMZ.
Rick says that he purchased several master recordings between 2006 and 2008, including the beat to "How to Love," from producers Drummer Boyz.
Rick claims that Drummer Boyz pitched the same beat to Wayne in November 2010, which Wayne acquired in exchange for a 35% royalty agreement. Now Rick has filed suit against Drummer Boyz and Wayne for breach of contract and other charges.

Lil Wayne Ft. Drake & Rick Ross – She Will (Remix

If you don’t use it, Rozay will. There were rumors circulating that Ricky was going to have a verse on “She Will” and he did. For whatever reason, it didn’t make the cut forTha Carter IV. DJ Scream throws it out for the people to love. This is way better than the original. I like having Rick Ross’ verse instead of what we have on the original. August 29, C4.
Update: There was some minor tags in Rick Ross’ verse but for the people who needed the complete tagless, it’s now below.

Nicki Minaj Storms the Charts

Nicki Minaj Storms the Charts
Nicki Minaj's hit single "Super Bass," has moved into the number three spot on Billboard magazine’s “Hot 100” singles chart, and now threatens to break a nine-year old record held by Missy Elliott's "Work It." The song was the last time a female rapper had a single peak so high on the charts.
The song continues Minaj's commercial success. In 2010, she became the first female rapper to have seven songs on the Billboard Top 200 Singles chart. She was also the first female Rap artist with an album in the top 10 for 14 consecutive weeks.
“Nicki isn't like any other female rapper,” says Ronald “Slim” Williams, co-founder of Cash Money Records. “We knew she had the goods when Lil Wayne signed her. She's not a female rapper—she's a pop star who happens to rap.”

Drake Focused On Album--Not Singles

Drake Focused On Album--Not Singles
Drake says, creatively, he's never been into recording singles. Despite the fact that the Young Money star routinely releases chart-toppers, Drizzy claims he's more focused on albums and painting a complete picture of himself as an artist. Moreso than just crafting next week's big pop hit.
That seems to be what he's focused on as he's working on his sophomore LP Take Care; crafting a fully-realized album.
"I hate singles," Drake says. "With this album, I want to tell a whole story," he adds. "I don't want people to just hear a piece and judge the album on that."

Drake Discusses "Take Care"

Drake Discusses ''Take Care''
Drake says fans should be prepared for more uber-emoting on his upcoming album, Take Care. The rapper known for sharing his feelings says that he's going to be even more raw on his sophomore album than he was on his introspective debut Thank Me Later.
"The album might bring me a world of problems because I think I finally have a grasp on who I am and who I want to be," Drake says in an interview. "I'm just really talking that sh*t. I'm really saying what I feel. I think the goal for me this album was to dig even deeper. Somebody told me, 'Ah, I love your lyrics -- but I know there's more. It's almost like I feel you're giving circus raps and people are taking them as the deepest thoughts ever.' So what I did for this album is try and really capture this moment in time at the most honest place I can. So however it ends up, I'm ready for the world right now. I'm about whatever."

Drake & Kreayshawn Like To Flirt

Drake & Kreayshawn Like To Flirt
Drake and newcomer Kreayshawn shared their mutual admiration for each other in a recent radio interview. But things got a little more interesting when the two started getting a little flirty during the broadcast.
"I honestly get excited when new things happen in hip-hop and when I heard 'Gucci Gucci,' I heard the flows, I was excited before I even knew who she was," Drake said during an interview with Invasion Radio. "And you know I got to hear a little bit more of the music beyond that and then to meet her and the energy that she has is great. She's just a great person. She's good people. That's my dog."
"Anytime she's ready. I got bars on deck for that," he said, also adding that she's a "little cutie pie."
"You're not so bad yourself there, Mr. Regularly Handsome," Kreayshawn responded.

Lil Wayne Says "Carter IV" Is Complete

Lil Wayne Says ''Carter IV'' Is Complete
Lil Wayne says that his long-awaited Tha Carter IV album is done. Wayne has been working on his follow-up to 2008s Tha Carter III since before he was incarcerated last year, and despite complaints last week about production, the rapper says his opus is now complete.
"The album is done and it'll be out August 29. It's totally done," said Wayne told MTV News. He also discussed the track "How To Love."
"That song is just sweeping the world. It's touching every woman, that's what it was for," explained Weezy. "It was like Tupac had 'Keep Ya Head Up' and it was a message to women and little girls across the world just to keep your head up even though things are hard. That's what my song was."
"A lot of women don't know how to love because there's deep reasons for them not knowing how to love."

Drake Is In the Zone

Drake Is In the Zone
Producer Boi-1da shared some details regarding his work on Drake's highly-anticipated upcoming sophomore album, Take Care. According to Boi, Drake is uber-focused on the project and the duo has been working so close that their level of communication has gotten non-verbal.
"He just had the same reaction as always," Boi says. "He just snaps and gets into a zone and starts writing. Sometimes he doesn't even say nothing he just goes, Ugh! Ugh! He gives me a grunt and it's a wrap from there. You just know."
No release date has been set for the project, but Drake has said that he would like to release a new single early in July.

Drake Blasts Universal Motown

Drake Blasts Universal Motown
Drake took to Twitter to blast Universal Motown for taking down his music. The rapper apparently believes the label isn't maximizing his music's airplay. Drizzy says that his music is for his fans and he took exception to the label deciding to limit the places where his latest singles can be heard.
"Universal needs to stop taking my f*cking songs down. I am doing this for the people not for your label," he tweeted.
