Snoop Aims For Twitter Record
Snoop Dogg will attempt break a Twitter record set last year by fellow rapper Rev. Run and enter into the Guinness Book of World Records. Snoop is looking to achieve the most re-tweets, after reaching 4 million followers. Starting today (August 23rd), Snoop will send out his message for fans to re-tweet between 12:00 AM that morning an12:00 AM the following Wednesday.
"Hitting four million Twizzles is a big moment for me and I want to thank all my fans for their continued support,” Snoop Dogg told AllHipHop via statement. “I want to show the world how powerful and influential social media and my fans are, which is why I am attempting to set the world record for the most ‘retweets’ on Twitter.”
Snoop will promote his efforts using Twitter, Facebook, Ustream and other popular social networks.
“We’re always excited to see new records set in the world of Social Media, and as with all potential record-breakers, we wish Snoop Dogg the best of luck with his attempt. We will be liaising directly with Twitter on the verification process,” said Dan Barrett, Community Manager, Guinness World Records.
