Fabolous Names His Wish List

Fabolous Names His Wish List
Fabolous revealed who are the two emcees he'd most love to work with at this point in his career. Fab has done more than his fair share of collaborations, but a legendary Queensbridge emcee and a chart-busting rapper from Detroit are at the top of his wish list of future collaborators.
"I haven't worked with Nas yet ever in my career," Fab shared. "I would love to work with him just because, you know, what Nas means to Hip Hop. Just what he's done in his career. I don't know what the song would be about, just wanna work with him and get in the studio and see what comes out."
"I wanna do something with Eminem," he added. "That's another person. I really respect his lyricism, we'll see what a song between us would come to be. It's hard to say, because I kinda worked with everyone."

Nas & Kanye's Jewelry Rivalry

Nas & Kanye's Jewelry Rivalry
Nas shared in a recent interview that he personally motivated fellow rapper Kanye West to get more and more outlandish with his jewelery. The Queensbridge legend said that he told 'Ye to get a little bolder with his chains and West stepped up to the challenge with an Egyptian piece he began sporting last year.
"I never finished it, Jacob [the Jeweler] went to jail," Nas said referring to a medallion. "He went to jail and ain't get the chance to finish it. I took it out early. Kanye [West] called me like, 'You told me to step my chain game up.' I said, 'You right, you right.' That n*gga came out with the overkill. I said, 'Yeah, n*gga, kill 'em.' My n*gga Ye gettin' 'em with the chain, boy! Egyptian. Original black man."

Nas Recording With Odd Future

Nas Recording With Odd Future
Nas is working with West Coast rap collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All (aka Odd Future.) The Queensbridge rapper is specifically set to collaborate with Hodgy Beats, Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean. Ocean is apparently overseeing the track and Nas just has to put his verse on it.
"The song is almost finished; we're just waiting on a verse... I'm just stoked to be on a song with [Nas],” Hodgy said.
Though it is unclear whether or not this song is slated to appear on Life is Good--the upcoming album by Nas--or on one of the Odd Future affiliates' future projects, but Nas has been vocal in his praise of Odd Future over the past few months.

Nas Discusses Ending Prodigy Beef

Nas Discusses Ending Prodigy Beef
Nas and Prodigy recently ended their long-standing bad blood and Nas himself spoke about it in a recent interview. The two Queensbridge emcees buried the hatchet after Prodigy reached out to Nas following the former's release from prison earlier this year.
"He called me as soon as he got out of jail; he got in touch with me," Nas explained in an interview. "We talked about some things. I didn't know he had a book. He didn't tell me that. I guess he just wanted to clear the air on some past things that don't mean anything today...I just jumped on the ['Dog Sh*t'] record; put that to the past or whatever ill feelings he had towards me. I think he was misinformed about things, like I was a negative guy or like I was trying to harm him in any kind of way. I think maybe he just grew up a little bit."

Am I Too Old for this Generation of Hip Hop?

Am I Too Old for this Generation of Hip Hop?
Say I’m a dog but I don’t even bark/Got em biting this swag like a shark - YC
“Racks on Racks” by YC is ruining my life!  Its one of the worst songs I have heard played on the radio in a while.  What disturbs me even more is the fact that I dance to it when I hear it in the club; as much as I try not its like I really can’t help myself. That fact alone says something about it but what?  That it’s actually a good song that I like deep down or it’s just catchy? I pick the latter.  From YG to Travis Porter to Lil B I can’t relate to their music.  So am I just too old to appreciate today’s young hip hop generation?
In the past few years hip hop has definitely shifted and I can’t say that I like the way its going.  Songs that I believe would have never seen the light of day before are now radio hits.  Did they really play a song called “You’re a Jerk” and showcased a video that had young MEN in the video dancing with jeans on as tight as mine?!!! BBM confused face!  This cant be life or at least hip hop life…
I subjected myself to listen to ONE Lil B song…I can never get that 2 minutes and 42 seconds of my life back!  It was terrible there was nothing good about it, not the lyrics, the beat or the artist. He wasn’t even on beat.  I can however appreciate the hustle of Lil B.  Even though, I believe that people who enjoy his music snort coke and are likely to commit a crime while high on said drug.  He did it has way.  No major label backing, no million dollar budget, just him, his team and the music he loves.  Which is what hip hop is is all about but I can’t appreciate anything about his music. Maybe I’m just spoiled.  I came up on Big, Pac, Jay, Nas and Snoop.  Classic records back then were coming out back to back.  Today if we get just a good record we’re extra excited.  Like “Yo did he hear that new (insert artist here) record?!!! Its really good, u need it!” Its like we take whatever we can get nowadays.
I was talking to my homie Rap the other day and he said “You would think that this generation of rap would be great because they are artistic and free but instead they are just reckless, rebellious and crazy with it.”  I think he’s right! I understand that diversity is needed in all genres of music but come on, how much of THIS do we really need?!!!  You guys can’t really think this stuff is good.  Catchy? YES! Danceable? Kinda! Good? NOOOO!  And I believe you need all of those elements to make a hit/good song.  OK! OK! OK! We can let one or two bad song thru as a hit every once in a while but WHO IN THE HELL LEFT THE GATE OPEN?!!!

J. Lo Dumped Nas For Weezy

J. Lo Dumped Nas For Weezy
Jennifer Lopez has made it known that she loves Weezy. But the "American Idol" hosts love of Wayne has now trumped her former favorite rapper. In a recent interview, J. Lo admitted that Nas was once her fave emcee, but now the Cash Money superstar has her attention.[video here]
"God, you know, years ago, it used to be Nas," Jennifer Lopez revealed. "I used to love Nas, he was my favorite of all time. And I think now, if I had to pick somebody current, it would probably be Lil Wayne. To me, he's the, [it's] the things he says and the way he says it, it's very unique. I feel he has a fresh new voice and I just like him. Plus, he's on my second single."
