Red Hot Chili Peppers Dump Kreayshawn

Red Hot Chili Peppers Dump Kreayshawn
Pop rap upstart Kreayshawn directed a video for The Red Hot Chili Peppers' new single, but the SoCal funk-rockers decided to scrap the clip. Kreayshawn has directed several videos despite being a film school dropout and rising to fame as a YouTube sensation-turned-rapper.
“We had one sort of failed attempt at making a video for this song, which was indoors and just kind of dark and dank and not really fun or anything, so we thought, ‘Let’s go with the opposite of that,' and the opposite of that was a rooftop," said lead singer Anthony Kiedis to MTV News.
In a previous interview, Kreayshawn had raved about working with one of the most beloved rock bands in the world.
“It’s got that organic feel, but it still gives the band a great shine and they look fu**ing awesome," she said about the video. "They are looking off the chain, man. Anthony’s in there looking like a swimsuit model."

Kreayshawn Not Dating Drake

Kreayshawn Not Dating Drake
Kreayshawn is downplaying rumors that she and fellow rapper Drake have any kind of romantic relationship. The Web has been swarming with speculation that the two have some type of history following Drake's flirtatious call-in to a Kreayshawn radio interview last week.
She says the talk is just that--talk.
"No, that's not my boo thing," Kreay laughingly said in an interview. "We're cute. Like I said, me and him, we're both cute. We could be cute. But, I'm not trying to snatch Rihanna's [boo] or nothing like that. You know, I don't know if the rumors is true, I'm a busy woman anyway...People are already tweeting the 'Drake and Kreayshawn, uh-oh, Rihanna's with him.' I'm like, people can't be friends? Whatever. Drake & Kreayshawn Like To Flirt

Drake & Kreayshawn Like To Flirt
Drake and newcomer Kreayshawn shared their mutual admiration for each other in a recent radio interview. But things got a little more interesting when the two started getting a little flirty during the broadcast.
"I honestly get excited when new things happen in hip-hop and when I heard 'Gucci Gucci,' I heard the flows, I was excited before I even knew who she was," Drake said during an interview with Invasion Radio. "And you know I got to hear a little bit more of the music beyond that and then to meet her and the energy that she has is great. She's just a great person. She's good people. That's my dog."
"Anytime she's ready. I got bars on deck for that," he said, also adding that she's a "little cutie pie."
"You're not so bad yourself there, Mr. Regularly Handsome," Kreayshawn responded.

Kreayshawn On the N-Word

Kreayshawn On the N-Word:
YouTube sensation generated controversy recently over tweeting the n-word while quoting DMX lyrics. The backlash has prompted the rap novelty to explain her position on the use of the word among white rappers and rap fans.
"I never said it in any of my music," Kreayshawn says. "Ever. [You heard it in my music video?] It might have been my sister, V-Nasty 'cause she says it all the time. That's just because she grew up all different. Like, she goes in and out of jail for armed robbery all the time. Like, her mom calls her that. So that's her stuff. Personally, I don't say it in my music. It's not my place but you know, that's her."
"If I'm freestyling and I said it, that's just for that point in time. Any songs I'm writing I don't use it," Kreayshawn continued. "In Oakland, Asian people will call Mexicans that. A Mexican will call a black dude that. A white person will call an Asian that. Everyone calls each other that. I feel like that word is used in the low-income community more than anything. I can see if I was some rich crazy trick and I was just saying this because it's hip-hop. I was raised around this. Me and my sisters were all raised around this. People call me that. But personally I'm not flaunting it around."

Kreayshawn On Ke$ha Comparisons

Kreayshawn On Ke$ha Comparisons:
Youtube sensation Kreayshawn is continuing to generate tremendous buzz. But the Oakland-based pop rapper with the oddball Internet hit "Gucci Gucci" is noticing that she's often being compared to pop star Ke$ha. Kreayshawn doesn't see the similarities--at least not beyond one obvious similarity.
"She's cool," Kreayshawn said about Ke$ha. "I wouldn't compare myself to her, but she's pretty sweet. I think people just compare something to something else just 'cause they don't know what it is and they want to relate it to something like, 'this is like Ke$ha.' They don't want to be like, 'this is new. I never heard of it. It's Kreayshawn. No, it's just some sh*t we kinda heard before.' Kreayshawn is Kreayshawn. People are gonna be like, 'this reminds of Kreayshawn' in a couple of months. I'm trying to work."
