"The R.E.D. Album" Name-Drops By The Numbers

Today, after a months and months of delay, Game released his fourth studio album, The R.E.D. Album. Jam packed with features from everyone from Tyler, The Creator to Rick Ross and even Dr. Dre and produced by everyone from DJ Khalil to Cool & Dre, it’s definitely the biggest release this week.

Although we’ve always rocked with Hurricane Game, his critics love to point out how he’s always name-dropping in his rhymes. Maybe that’s why Mars of 1500 or Nothin’ told MTV yesterday that Game’s next album will feature no name-dropping. We’ll see if that holds up but for now, we went through all the lyrics of Game’s newest album and counted up every single name-drop he made. Check the stats below.

Game On His Problem With Jay-Z:

Rapper Game is one of hip hop's biggest drama queens...er...kings. The Compton emcee has been taking shots at everyone from Amber Rose to Lil B lately, but it was his dig at Jay-Z on the track "Uncle Otis" that got a lot of folks talking. Game finally opened up--sort of--and explained why he has a problem with Jay.

“I met Jay-Z a long time ago in the 40/40 Club and he seemed like a cool dude and I asked him something—‘How do you stay relevant?’—and I ain’t really like his answer. So ever since then I just kinda take shots here and shot there,” Game said in an interview with radio personality Big Boy.

When he was pressed for more information, Game backed off. “I’ll tell you off air, anybody else who wants to know, just follow me on Twitter and ask me.” But he later wrote down his reason for beefing with Jay-Z and had someone else read it on the air. His note allegedly read: “Most of you new rappers won’t last long anyway, maybe you should think of another lane.”

Lil B On Game's Disses

Game recently gave fellow West Coast rapper Lil B the title of 'Wackest Rapper," but Lil B admits that he's a big fan of Game's work. "The Based God" was asked about Game and praised the Compton rapper--but also added a shot.

Talk about mixed messages.

"Game's talking about me...right now, and I respect Game," Lil B told paparazzi this week as he entered a car. "I got [Game's] Live From Compton 2 [mixtape], so Game already know, you're a legend in my book. But he's irrelevant. Based God!"

50 Cent, Others Receive Madden Game

EA Sports will be releasing Madden NFL 12, the latest in their long-running popular football video game franchise, on August 30th. In celebration of the ending of the NFL lockout, the EA has created fifty Madden EA VIP kits for celebrities, athletes and a few fans. The VIP kits include a customized PS3 with the tagline "It's Time" engraved on its side, a pair of Monster headphones and a New Era snap back.

Rappers 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and the Game have been among the celebs to receive the VIP specialty kit.

Fans can win one of the kits by entering an EA contest on Facebook. NBA players like Amare Stoudmaire, Lamar Odom and John Wall; and NFL stars like Chad Ocho Cinco and Terrell Owens have also been gifted with one of the kits.

Game Says He Never Dissed Amber Rose

Rapper the Game says he doesn't understand why fans believe he dissed Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose on his "Uncle Otis" track. The Compton rapper says he only rapped about wanting to have relations with Rose--which he doesn't see as a diss.

"How'd I diss Wiz [Khalifa]? I dissed Wiz?," Game asked DJ Envy when asked about his "Uncle Otis" track. "I didn't diss her. I said, 'Put the p*ssy on my face and let me taste a little taste.' Now that's a diss? [Envy] said it's a diss. Which one is it? Am I dissing her or is [it disrespectful?] It's just 'Uncle Otis,' man. Blame Uncle Otis. Yeah, he's an old nasty n*gga. Uncle Otis is."

Game Explains His Beef WIth Jay-Z

Game once promised eh would never diss Jay-Z. That changed with the rapper's release of "Uncle Otis" in July. He explained why he changed his position on Jay-Z.

"I had it like that he was just a great dude," Game explained. "I grew up off of all Jay's albums, and when I finally met him and he was just, I don't know, he was overly cocky."

Game added. "The way that he played fans - and I'm not saying it to say he's the same person now, that was like seven years ago - this is my own personal experience, so it's not to make anyone hate Jay-Z. It turned me left. Ever since then, I've been taking little potshots here and there, it's nothing personal."

Game Angered Kanye?

Game spoke on the current state of his friendship with Kanye West in a recent interview. The two collaborated on tracks in the past, but Game says their working relationship may have soured after he took some verbal shots at Amber Rose while she was still dating Kanye.

"I dunno, I think I dissed Amber Rose while she was with [Kanye] and I think that kinda tainted our relationship a little bit," Game told Sway. "I reached out to Kanye at the beginning of the album and I seen him in L.A. He said he was gonna give me some beats, but he never did."

"I didn't take it personal," he added. "I got nothing but love for 'Ye and the things that we did in the past."

Game On His Future

Game may still be under contract to Aftermath/Interscope, but the Compton-based rapper is talking louder and louder about what he's going to do once he's fulfilled his current contract. Game owes his label two more records (including the soon-to-be-released R.E.D. Album--but he's definitely looking to the future.

He said as much during a recent trip to "106 & Park."

"You know Interscope/Aftermath, that's my label and I'ma hold it down for them forever," Game said. "I've been there for four albums, and I've got one more album before I'm a free agent. We're gonna try and turn that one around real quick, then I'll make the executive decision on what I'll do with the rest of my career. I might get into acting, I might go over to Cash Money. You never know."

Big Sean Downplays G.O.O.D. Beefs

Big Sean is quite the diplomatic emcee. When asked about perceived shots fired at his G.O.O.D. Music cohort Kanye West--Yeezy has been called by both The Game and former G.O.O.D. Music artist Consequence--Sean took the high road.

"Kanye, that situation with him and Consequence, that's way personal," Sean explained in an interview. "That's not a random dude dissing. That was somebody who was part of the fam, was all in the fam together and then they had their problems..[Game's 'Otis' diss?] I didn't even take it as a diss. I took it as him doing what he do. Don't he got an album that's about to come out?"

Game Seeks Fan Assistance

Rapper The Game is asking fans to help him ghostwrite a verse for his upcoming R.E.D. Album. He says the best contribution will be featured on the project and he will acknowledge the fan who contributed the verse in a video during the song's recording.

"Eh yo, look, I'm looking for another verse for my single 'Red Nation,'" Game said in a video. "I'm going to record my favorite verses on video and share it with the world. For the winner verses, your name and link will pop up during your lyrics so everyone knows your verse was pretty f*cking hot, man and I chose it and now you're the sh*t and your friends are talking about you in school. If you ain't in school, all the homies are talking about you in the hood and if you ain't a n*gga around the hood then all the girls are talking about you in the salon."

"So basically, man, this video will be seen by millions of people all around the world and I mean millions of people are going to see this sh*t," he explained further. "You'll be featured on my Facebook, Twitter, website and Interscope newsletter. Let me tell you about this Interscope newsletter. Lady Gaga be in that motherf*cker."

Game Apologized To Tyra Banks

Rapper Game says he apologized to model/television star Tyra Banks for making jokes about her rather prominent forehead some years back on his single "Higher." Game made a name for himself beefing with everyone from fellow rappers 50 Cent and Yukmouth to model Melyssa Ford. But he's been trying to change his image lately.

Sort of.

"I had [my publicist] send over some flowers [with a card] that said, 'Sorry about the fo'head joke,'" Game revealed. "But we put 'Fo', f-o, head. Fo' head. We joked about it, but she said she had never heard it -- but somebody told her about it. But it was all good man. And you know, her forehead wasn't that big in real life. It was there, but it wasn't as big. But nothing but love for Tyra."

Game Collaborating With Lupe Fiasco

West Coast rapper Game has announced that Lupe Fiasco is appearing on a track called “Skate On” on Game's upcoming R.E.D. Album. The album is dropping August 23rd, and Game explained the concept behind the track and the collaboration.

“The Lupe track, I forget who it’s produced by, I just know I got it from Fabian who mixes most of the Neptunes stuff,” he said. “Lupe was in the studio with me and Pharrell and he got on it, and it’s called ‘Skate On.’ You know the skateboard community, like everybody skates. Lupe skates, and I thought it would be cool to take that and make it reverse psychology. You know, like when some bullshit’s about to jump off, you’re like, ‘I think we should skate.’ It’s kind of like that, that world meets ‘get the fuck out of there because some drama’s coming,’ and you know the drama’s coming from my side.”

Game also addressed Lupe’s controversial comments regarding President Obama. “Yeah, to each his own. I know Lupe, and I know he’s a good dude. I didn’t hear it and I don’t know what he said, but I don’t give a fuck ‘cause Obama’s our president, and I ain’t never met him yet, but he’s a cool guy evidently,” he continued. “And Lupe’s my homeboy, so to each his own. So whatever he said, I’m pretty sure he can stand up behind. That’s him.”

Game Album Drops In August

Game has promised that his highly-anticipated R.E.D. Album will finally be released this August. He says that his label Interscope Records confirmed with him that the album's late summer release date.

“I had a meeting with [Interscope head] Jimmy Iovine last week, and he told me the album was slated for the end of the summer, and it will not be pushed back any more than that. So we're looking towards late August," he told Billboard.

Game shot the video for single “Red Nation” featuring Lil Wayne, in Los Angeles last month.

“It's like 'Mad Max' mixed with Nas' 'One Mic' video, where there's riots going on in the background," Game explained. "We did this thing where I'm on top of a burning car rapping, and we had some flares and a lot of fire, fireworks and all of that. It's definitely the most fun video I've ever shot, and I think it'll be the best video I've ever shot to date.”

Game Getting Married?

Game announced that he will--or at least, could--be marrying his baby's mother Tiffany after he returns from his current tour. The rapper is performing on the Australian Supafest tour, alongside Ciara, Keri Hilson, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, Fat Joe, and Busta Rhymes. But as soon as he gets home, the L.A. rhymer says he's getting hitched.

"The day I get back I'm marrying u Tiffney," Game tweeted. "I love u, my kids & I love my family and I can't go another day without u sharing my last name."

Oh and uh--incidentally, Game revealed a few days ago that his boo-boo Tiffney promised to cheat on him while he was out on tour. "Tiffney, (my youngest son and my daughters mom) just told me she gone f*** a n***a tonite and aint nothing I can do about it!!!" Game tweeted previously.

Guess it makes sense to wife her...

Game's Car Repossessed?

Rapper Game says that one of his most well-known rides was taken back to the dealer after he failed to renew the lease. TMZ caught up with the Los Angeles-based rhymer in his hometown while the star was "surrounded by a bunch of BADASS cars in Hollywood." His infamously souped-up Corvette was nowhere to be seen, however.

Reportedly Game leased the vehicle three years ago and was off on tour when the lease expired. The rapper cooperated with the officials that came to physically remove the car.

"I got so many whips..." Game said. Not a big deal at all.

Game Loves Hip Hop

Game thinks he's hip hop's savior. Well, not quite--but close.

In an interview, the Los Angeles-based rapper expressed his love for hip hop music and his belief that there is a lack of rappers out currently that actually care about hip hop.

"I just think that every now and then in hip hop, there's a dead space so we need some substance," he told The Juice. "I think that I just might be one of the last artists that really cares about hip hop and not rap, not the culture, not poppin' bottles, not the cars, chains, broads, I just actually care about nurturing and giving back to this sort of foundation on which I grew up on, which is real hip-hop."

Game Takes Jabs At Ras Kass

During a recent interview with Power 106's Big Boy, Game stoked the fires of his ongoing beef with fellow West Coast emcee Ras Kass. Game praised Ras as one of California's most gifted rhymers while also reitering his story of a beatdown he supposedly delivered to Ras in 2006 [video here].

“I’ll beat you up and give you props at the same time,” Game joked. “He was one of the more underrated artists on the West Coast. He just never got his break.”

Ras Kass has accused Game of running during the altercation, but Game continues to share his take on the play-by-play.

“I gave him like, 18, chances and said, ‘I don’t want no problems,’” Game added. “Then as I was walking away he said, ‘You know what? I got a problem!’ I timed it just as the ball dropped so nobody heard it. It was like 5-4-3-2-1…pow…then security drug him out like, ‘We got him, Game.’”
