DMX Plans To Sue Arizona Police

Rapper DMX is disputing the details of his arrest yesterday (August 26.) X admits that he was over the speed limit, but says that he was not going 102 mph as he was charged. DMX also says that he will be suing the police over the incident.

"I'm used to driving fast, I'm a New Yorker," DMX told TMZ. "…but I constantly look at the speedometer when I'm driving ... I need to make sure I don't drive too fast."

DMX is accusing the Arizona police of harassment.

"I plan on suing and I plan on suing for harassment," DMX said. "I'm in discussions with multiple lawyers who are not afraid to go against the system in helping me clear my name because I have been harassed."

Kendrick Lamar Praises DMX

Young rapper Kendrick Lamar has been vocal about his admiration for 2Pac's life and music. It turns out Lamar is also a huge fan of troubled rapper DMX. Lamar revealed that X's early work provided a template for him as a youngster.

“Well, I started rhyming off of DMX's first album,” Lamar explained. “I’ll never forget I was in 7th grade [and] my homie Antonio just threw the CD in my hand said ‘Listen to this.’ I put that in man and I was blasting it and I started penning my own music.”

Like the classic debuts of many 80s and 90s rapper, Lamar also said that his first album will be low on features. “I really want to go dolo on it because I really want to get the full story out and make it make sense. If I do do a feature it has to make a hundred percent, the best sense,” the rapper revealed. “I don’t really wanna force nothing. Well, all of my music. Even the features I do within my camp, them features have to make sense with me. I can’t just do it just because.”

DMX On Joining Maybach Music

Despite the fact that Rick Ross allegedly made an offer to recently-released rapper DMX to join Ross' Maybach Music Group, X gave a short, sweet and decisive answer when he was asked about joining the Miami rapper's label.

"Nah, probably not," X said.

He didn't offer any further explanations, but it remains to be seen if, when and how X can restore the luster to his hip hop career. He's had a ridiculous string of legal mishaps and has been in and out of jail for several years.

Swizz Beatz On DMX

Swizz Beatz shared his support for his friend, incarcerated rapper DMX. X's career has been derailed due to years of drug use, arrests and erratic behavior, but according to Swizz, its up to DMX to get his career together.

Swizz still believes in the troubled former chart-topper.

"I'll always work with DMX; that's my brother no matter what," Swizz Beatz said in an interview. "X was a winner already. Now it's just a matter of getting that title back. Bottom line is, he's a winner. It's just on when he wants to win again; it's all up to him."

DMX Isn't A Fan of Drake

DMX is making sure the world knows that he will be freed from prison in a few weeks. The troubled rapper has begun making noise again, and this time he's called out current superstar Drake. While X insists there's no animosity towards Drake, he revealed that he doesn't enjoy the Toronto emcee's music at all.

"I don't like Drake," X says directly. "It's nothing that he did to me, He actually is talented. He's very talented," X explained in an interview. "Yeah, I don't like him. It ain't nothing personal. I don't like his stuff. He is talented. He has a little wordplay here and there, but when I see him and hear him it's like -- 'Money, I'm not rockin with that.'"

DMX's New Outlook

DMX has been in and out of jail for the better part of the past ten years. While serving his current one year sentence, the rapper has revealed that his approach has changed. X has been focused on his spiritual health and shared his newfound outlook in a recent interview with VIBE.

“I realized that [change] is something that I want do this time. Like the last few times I couldn’t wait to get out and go have a drink,” he explained. “Like all my focus was on going to the club or things of that nature. Now, I’m in a frame of mind where I’m like ‘right into the studio and get my grind on.’"

DMX claims his latest stint in an Arizona jail was the result of a vendetta the sheriff had against him.

“The sheriff--he openly spoke about how he wanted to make sure I stayed locked up,” he said. “If these things happened in New York, there’s no way I’d be in jail. Or any other state where the law is like, followed.”

The rapper also discussed his next album. "It’s funny how it came up. I was stuck between two titles. The first one was Redemptionand the second title was Beast," he shared. "And somebody hit me like, why don’t you make it Redemption of the Beast?"

Kreayshawn On the N-Word

YouTube sensation generated controversy recently over tweeting the n-word while quoting DMX lyrics. The backlash has prompted the rap novelty to explain her position on the use of the word among white rappers and rap fans.

"I never said it in any of my music," Kreayshawn says. "Ever. [You heard it in my music video?] It might have been my sister, V-Nasty 'cause she says it all the time. That's just because she grew up all different. Like, she goes in and out of jail for armed robbery all the time. Like, her mom calls her that. So that's her stuff. Personally, I don't say it in my music. It's not my place but you know, that's her."

"If I'm freestyling and I said it, that's just for that point in time. Any songs I'm writing I don't use it," Kreayshawn continued. "In Oakland, Asian people will call Mexicans that. A Mexican will call a black dude that. A white person will call an Asian that. Everyone calls each other that. I feel like that word is used in the low-income community more than anything. I can see if I was some rich crazy trick and I was just saying this because it's hip-hop. I was raised around this. Me and my sisters were all raised around this. People call me that. But personally I'm not flaunting it around."
