Jay Electronica Releasing EP

Jay Electronica Releasing EP
Roc Nation rapper Jay Electronica is working on a collaborative joint EP with Jeymes Samuel. The artists previously worked together on the Bullitts album, They Die By Dawn And Other Short Stories, and have announced they will work together on "Mos Eisley EP."
“The only person that is equally non-linear as me is Jay Electronica,” Samuel offered. “So we’d argue over particular tracks. ‘Run And Hide’ is a track that Jay Electronica produced. He’ll make a track like that, and we’ll both record it. But secretly, I want it for my album. Jay would sample stuff from [movies like] Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory or Superman II. We have the exact same train of thought.”
“What comes out of him musically and where he goes and pulls…it gives me satisfaction to see somebody doing that,” Jay Electronica added. “The end result was something that I liked, and I wanted to be a part of it.”
The project has no official release date as of yet.

Jay-Z Explains Album Delays

Ja Rule Announces Album Release Date
Jay-Z explained the somewhat long delays on debut albums from several artists affiliated with his Roc Nation imprint. Most notably, Jay spoke on J. Cole and Jay Electronica's projects and why it takes time to craft a great album.
“J. Cole is pretty close, he’s coming out in September. He’s got a great album. Jay Electronica is working on a great album as well. He’s pretty close. Bridget Kelly just released — her debut song, ‘Thinking About Forever’ — For me, if you’re gonna come sign to Roc Nation, just realize it’s going to take a second. I’m into artists. I’m not really into putting a single out. It takes a minute to build artists. It’s just true. You can’t come off the street and make a classic. Rarely does that happen."
"Lauryn Hill was in the business for 700 years before she put out The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," Jay added. "She had to go through some things. You have to go through some things.”

Jay-Z Working On Next Album

Jay-Z Working On Next Album
Rapper Jay-Z may be readying fans for the release of his collaborative album with Kanye West; but the Brooklyn legend is also already hard at work on his next solo project. Jay says his follow-up to 2009s Blueprint 3 will not disappoint.
""I know exactly the tone and the whole feel of the [next] album. Its different. Its not weird," Jay said. "They are really f**king good. I can tell you that."
Jay also added that he wanted the album to be done before his Roc Nation signees J. Cole and Jay Electronica release their albums.
"Hopefully," he responded with a chuckle. "I don't play that. We all competing for the same mind share. J. Cole and Jay Electronica are both making inspiring music."
"I never had two songs this early before my [current] project came out," he added.

Lil B Working With Lupe & Jay Elec

Lil B Working With Lupe & Jay Elec
Lil B may have modified the title of his controversial upcoming debut album, but the rapper still has come under much scrutiny. Ever since he announced that the project would be called I'm Gay, The Based God has had to defend and explain his intentions and artistic direction. But B continues to say that he wants hip hop fans to open their minds regarding the album.
“Really, the album is going to be revolutionary,” he said. “It’s going to be something that’s like going to change the world. It’s going to spark the minds of people. That’s what I wanted to do, really break down some barriers and let people live life.”
Lil B also says he's collaborating with Muslim emcees Lupe Fiasco and Jay Electronica on upcoming projects.
“Me and Lupe, we coming out with something. But me and Jay Electronica, we’re dropping a project," he said. "We’re just going to get in that studio and knock it out. He’s here for a living. He’s someone that’s deeper than rap. I think there will be a lot of questions answered on there, on that project. There’s going to be some stuff that’s coming in real soon.”

Jay Electronica Pairs Up With Lil B

Jay Electronica Pairs Up With Lil B
As the controversy continues surrounding rapper Lil B, it was recently announced that the West Coast rhymer will be teaming up with Jay Electronica on a new mixtape. Some may be surprised that the staunchly Islamic Electronica is working with Lil B, who ignited controversy earlier this year by announcing his next album would be called I'm Gay, but B says it makes more sense than some might guess.
"If you listen to Jay Electronica's first mixtape that he had 'Exhibit C' on, and if you really listen to him, there's a lot of stuff that I feel in my heart are similarities," B explained in an interview. "You know, like, subject matter. It's another level that we're in tune on, because we're here for the positivity and to make a change...This project with Jay is gonna be very spiritual, very uplifting, very deep. It will be historical."
