Michelle Williams On Matthew Knowles

Beyonce's decision to fire her father, Matthew Knowles, last week shouldn't have been too much of a surprise. The two had reportedly been estranged since the revelation of Knowles' infidelity to his wife Tina was made public years ago; and Beyonce had been making decisions on her own or with her hubby Jay-Z for quite some time. But it still was big news, and Bey's former Destiny's Child bandmate Michelle Williams shared her perspective on the split.

"When you think of family, that's all she has known since she was a little girl--but she is a grown women now," Williams said. "So you’re grown, you make grown decisions. Some are harder than others, but the love is still there. I don’t want it to be like I’m speaking for her but thats her father, you can always get another management but you can’t get another daddy. So, I can’t wait until we all get together again."

After reports of an amicable split with his daughter, superstar Beyonce, manager Mathew Knowles has issued a statement regarding her leaving his Music World Entertainment label. Knowles said Destiny Child as a group will remain with Music World Entertainment.

"The decision for Beyoncé and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual," Mathew Knowles said."We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment," Knowles continued. "Music World will continue its partnership with Sony with Destiny's Child and UK female group From Above, as well as management. We will also continue to develop the Music World family of labels: Music World Country/Compadre, Music World Kids and Music World Music."

"Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success," Knowles said.

Beyonce Officially Dumps Daddy

After almost two years of estrangement, Beyonce has finally axed her dad, Matthew Knowles, as her manager. Matthew has guided his daughter's success since her beginnings as part of the teenage quartet Destiny's Child.

In a statement from her publicist Yvette Noel-Schure, Bey confirmed to The Associated Press that she and her father have separated, but was quick to acknowledge the split was only "on a business level."

She also added that Knowles "is my father for life and I love my dad dearly."
