The CLS revolutionized automotive design when it debuted more than seven years ago, but with newer competition from Audi and BMW in the category, the Benz now looks kind of tired. The second-generation 2012 Mercedes CLS-Class aims to keep eyes focused on the three-pointed star, and at least on the surface, it can certainly hold its own, according to Cars.com editor Kelsey Mays. The CLS has borrowed several design cues from its SLS sibling, and there’s some interesting tech equipment, too, including a first-of-its-kind adaptive LED headlamp system. We’ll have to wait until spring to see if the CLS drives as nice as it looks.
